Services & Techniques

We use a number of highly-effective adjusting approaches to help improve spinal biomechanics and reduce nervous system interference. The approaches we use for a particular patient are based on our judgment and years of experience.

The primary adjusting techniques we use include:

Diversified

At Prins Chiropractic, we use an adjusting style commonly referred to as “Diversified.”

First, a structural analysis of your entire body is performed. This is preceded by a thorough case history and if necessary, advanced imaging, such as X-Ray, CT Scan or MRI. *These procedures are not performed at our office.

When a joint (spinal or other) is found to have less than normal motion, a specific manual thrust is administered. The direction, speed, depth and angle that are used is the result of years of experience, practice and a thorough understanding of spinal mechanics.

The energy delivered during the thrust may produce a slight “popping” sound from the shifting of gas and fluids in the joint. This sound may be interesting, but is not a guide as to the value or effectiveness of the adjustment.

While improving spinal biomechanics can reduce nervous system interferences, virtually all joints of the body can be adjusted to help restore proper range of motion.

Neuro Emotional Technique (N.E.T.)

Neuro Emotional Technique (NET) is a valuable tool to discover and resolve “stuck” emotional patterns.
Many are amazed when their muscle being tested weakens when recalling the memory of an unresolved emotionally-charged event.

The Source of Many Health Problems

Emotions add richness to our lives. Everyday countless emotions are expressed and forgotten. However, in a weakened state, emotionally-charged events can occur and our body may not “let go” of the emotion. The results can include unhealthy aversions, self-sabotaging behaviors, destructive tendencies and many other chronic health problems including recurrent pain!

Simple Muscle Testing

NET helps identify the unresolved real (or imagined) event and assists your body in dissipating its lingering emotional charge. Finding and balancing these stuck memory loops is done with the help of simple muscle testing. This helps determine if your body is “in harmony” with a concept or idea linked to an emotional memory or event.

A New Sense of Freedom

Once the original triggering event has been identified, a simple procedure allows your body to release the “stuck” emotional pattern. Almost instantly, many report a feeling as though a heavy burden has been lifted from their shoulders.
Our patients appreciate the fact that they remain in control of their NET session and can suspend the proceedings if things get too personal or uncomfortable.

Laser Therapy

Imagine the surprise when researchers learned that certain light frequencies could actually reduce inflammation and enhance the healing process!
Related to the lasers used in scanners, this low level light energy can have positive effects on the body. When patients learn that we use laser therapy in our practice, they have visions of a powerful, steel-cutting beam of light. The “cold” laser we use has only a tiny fraction of the power. Instead, its value comes from the frequency of the light it emits, not its intensity.

Related to the lasers used in scanners, this low level light energy can have positive effects on the body.

Specific Wavelengths

Instead of the full spectrum of light that comes from the sun, our low level laser produces light in a narrow frequency. Frequencies in the red portion of the rainbow are shown to assist the healing of soft tissues. Cells of our body have receptors that are sensitive to light.

How Does It Work?

How can certain frequencies of light speed up or slow down biological processes? Many theories have been suggested, but from practical application with real patients, we know it works for:

  • Wound healing
  • Inflammation reduction
  • Pain management
  • Cell regeneration
  • Scar tissue reduction

While scientists debate the mechanism by which low level laser works and publish their work in the scientific literature, our patients are just delighted that it works!

Orthotics

Examination of one’s feet usually reveals pressure points, loss of arch, bunion deformity, chronic foot fungus and other critical information. It surprises many that we will often focus on the feet, when the problem seems located in the neck or lower back. Yet, your pelvis and feet are the foundation of your spine. Problems in one area can create compensatory problems in the other.

Better Posture Starts With Your Feet

Having studied feet biomechanics, I came to the conclusion years ago that to properly support the body and feet, an orthotic needs to be made in a specific manner. You cannot step in a foam box and create an optimal device to aid your body toward better support and biomechanical normalcy.

Similar to what most podiatrists make, we take many measurements of all parts of one’s feet. Then, cast their feet in a non-weight bearing position, with plaster. We have been partnering for 28 plus years with an orthosis laboratory located in Southern California. The lab technicians and I consult on every pair ordered. This is the same lab that makes orthotics for the LA Lakers!

These are custom shoe inserts that support all three arches in your feet. They aid in creating a healthier, more stable foundation for your entire body. These subtle imbalances contribute to postural misalignments, knee pain, hip problems, head tilt, forward leaning head carriage and general fatigue.

Best of all, not only do they work great, they feel great!
