Headaches/Migraines
Headaches may arise from muscular tension, vascular changes, sinus congestion, eyestrain, temporomandibular joint dysfunction (issues with your jaw) and many other underlying causes. They can start over the eyes, in the back of the head, on the sides or top of the head, or feel centered behind the eyes.
Headaches are not normal. Recurring headaches are a sign that something is wrong and should not be ignored. Aspirin, ibuprofen and other medications may temporarily mask the symptoms but they do nothing to correct the source of the problem. As long as the problem remains the headaches will continue to come back
Dr. Prins will use physical, orthopedic, and neurological tests to pinpoint the potential cause of the headache. Once the cause of your headache is understood, treatment options are discussed. If appropriate in your case, your treatment plan may include one or more of the following: nutritional advice, dietary recommendations, ergonomic advice (home or work postures), soft tissue therapies, chiropractic adjusting, cranial work including craniosacral technique, exercises, sleep posture recommendations (pillow size & density), and relaxation techniques.
